Joe Sullivan

Joe Sullivan, pianist, singer, composer, and arranger, grew up in Billings and earned his Music Degree at Rocky Mountain College. He has never stopped studying or practicing. In 2012 and 2013 Joe was named keyboard player of the year at the Magic City Music Awards. He has played in many groups, getting his start on the road with roots rocker and Sun recording artist Sleepy LaBeef when he was 21. He played keyboard for Billings legend, Jimmy Dressler and Big Country from 2006 - 2017. He now fronts his own groups Little Joe and the Cartwrights, and Joe Sullivan Trio. Joe also plays jazz in many venues with some of Montana's top musicians.  When Joe isn't performing and practicing, he's writing songs and arrangements. Many of his choir compositions are published and performed all over the country.

Hello and Welome

Thank you for visiting my website.
I hope you come out and listen to Little Joe and the Cartwrights at the VFW in Billings Heights, or the Joe Sullivan trio at the Elks Club.  We do a lot of old style Country Music and a little bit of jazz. We are working on a cd and I hope it will be out this year.

I also play jazz at the Wild Ginger with the Matt Austin Quartet, and at the Petroleum Club with Phil Griffin.  Brad Edwards, Bill Hainer, Jeff Taylor, Ed Gunch, Jim Goodman, Larry Falls Down, Clark Fletcher, Benny Milks, Bob Brown, Alex Nauman, Matt Devitt, Matt Austin, Phil Griffin, Mark Bryan, Marian Green, and Trevor Krieger are some great musicians and entertainers I get to work with. I also play solo piano and do a wide variety of music.

I'm very grateful to have worked with Jim Dressler and Big Country from 2006 - 2017. Jim is taking an extended hiatus and we hope he will be back.
